Throughout my professional life, I have experienced the Media from all sides: as a working actress in television, film, and stage, as a reporter and TV news anchor, as a morning-drive radio personality, and as a host with News/Talk radio. While working in Media is fascinating and a calling of mine, it falls short of Platform Speaking. This is because the Media uses “trade tools” to impart information. For you to receive information, a variety of tools come out of the tool box: lights, cameras, scripts, headphones, costumes, computers, directors, producers, engineers, designers, stage hands, board operators, assistants, floor directors...just to name some. Whew! A whole lot of multi-tasking going on.
Platform Speaking, on the other hand, presents an opportunity for me to speak directly to you. When I'm at the platform it's as much about you as it is about me. I’m freed up to present a one-on-one with you, where you'll experience my passions first hand. In turn, you'll become more passionate about your own work. You'll see how you can make a difference every day in your community and in the world. You'll see the rays of hope amid the gloom of the day; you'll see solutions to problems. You'll learn new trends for the future and how to improve your surroundings. More than anything, your passions will surface and you'll be more motivated to change tomorrow for the better. I like the feeling of a one-on-one, don’t you? I like the "in the flesh" experience of giving you TERRY’S TAKE. When I'm at a platform, you and I simply "speak" better. First-hand. Face-to-face. Direct. Intimate. Straight from the shoulder. Platform Speaking:
It’s more practical. It's more productive. It’s more personal. And if you’re as passionate a personality as I am, we’ll have a powerful relationship together.
